Frequently Asked Questions

How to print greeting cards at home?

Printing at home requires setting your printer to heavy paper mode and feeding sheets individually. However, standard home inkjet and laser printers cannot process ultra-thick 400gsm cardstock or achieve the edge-to-edge vibrant colour grading and crisp, crack-free creasing delivered by commercial presses.

How to print on blank greeting cards?

To print on blanks, you must create a custom page size in your software and meticulously adjust printer margins. This often results in paper jams and misalignment. Professional double-sided custom printing entirely eliminates this frustration. This ensures perfectly centered artwork every time.

How to print a greeting card in Photoshop?

Set your Photoshop canvas to the flat sheet size (e.g., 10x7 inches for a folded 5x7 card) at 300 DPI, adding a 3mm bleed on all outer edges. Once designed, you can directly upload your high-resolution PDF to Printways.co.uk for immediate, hassle-free output.

What is the best paper for greeting cards?

The best paper is 400gsm silk or uncoated cardstock. This ultra-heavyweight standard provides a luxurious, rigid feel that prevents bowing on display. This makes it the absolute premium choice for high-end retail, wedding, and corporate greeting cards.
