Foil Stamping FAQs
What artwork file do I need for foiling?
Similar to Spot UV, you will need to provide a 'foil mask' file. This is a vector file with solid black shapes indicating precisely where the foil should be applied.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Because a custom metal die needs to be created, foil stamping is best suited for quantities of 100 or more to be cost-effective.
Can you foil on textured paper?
Yes! Foil stamping works beautifully on many textured and uncoated paper stocks, creating a lovely debossed effect where the foil is applied. We recommend this over laminating for a more organic feel.
